CIVILIAN staff working in custody, the police control room and crime scene workers, will be going out on strike but Unison leaders said it was too early to estimate how many that would be.
It will be business as usual for all police officers as they are prevented from striking.
Nicole Cornelius, head of human resources for Hampshire police, said: “We have agreed a protocol for those employees so that they can demonstrate their strength of feeling with no question of risk to members of the public or their colleagues.”
She added that in the event of an emergency all employees would be required back to work and that the force has contingency plans in place to ensure all emergency calls can be taken and responded to.
Hampshire Fire and Rescue service said its emergency response would be unaffected as firefighters were not part of the dispute and cover would be brought in where required for any striking control room and support staff.
