HAVING served the people of Fareham as MP for nine years, Tory Mark Hoban believes he knows what matters most to people in the Borough.

The 45-year-old who lives in Locks Heath with his wife of 16 years, Fiona, is a key member of the Conservative Party's treasury team, where he is responsible for sorting out the financial sector.

His first priority if re-elected will be to get the economy on the right track, acting on government borrowing now to keep mortgage rates low and making Britain more competitive.

He added: "Quality of life is an important local issue. I campaigned alongside local people to protect land at Brownwich and Chilling from harmful gravel extraction.

"I also believe residents should have the final say on planning, so I would look to scrap plans which force us to build an extra 80,000 homes in South East Hampshire."

Mark, who is a Chartered Accountant, also wants a fair deal for families, backing measures to help pensioners, such as increasing the state pension in line with earnings and wants to see better schools and healthcare by putting pupils and patients first.

His involvement in politics started in 1980, when he joined the Conservative Party in the North East of England, where he was born and brought up.
