MORE jobs, better public transport and cross-party co-operation is what Claire Smith the Green party candidate for Gosport thinks the town needs.
The 44-year-old writer says she was against the car parking charges she claims drove people out of Gosport and into Fareham.
She also said she fully supports the Fareham to Gosport rapid bus link.
As well as those key issues she wants to see less public money being wasted and more jobs created for frontline workers.
She said if elected she will stop the cross party bickering get all parties to work together.
Ms Smith said: "Several generations of my family have lived in this area - as I do myself. I would dearly love to see reach its full potential: providing good jobs and a safe, pleasant environment in which to live.
"Don't think that the Greens are a single issue party. Yes, we care passionately about the environment, but we also have strong policies on employment, education and health. If you want positive politics, please vote for me."
Ms Smith says she sees herself as a practical person.
She has a civil partnership with Noelle who is an industrial chemist.
Ms Smith has been involved in local politics and stood a number of times in council and parliamentary elections in the last six years She was born in Fareham and studied biology at Salford University and has lived in Gosport for the last eight years.
She has worked as a journalist and written books specialising in environmental issues.
