Jay Rodriguez scored twice as Saints kicked off their pre-season campaign with a 2-1 win over Unió Esportiva Llagostera, in Spain.
The match was the first of the summer for the club, and also saw the debuts of new signings Dejan Lovren and Victor Wanyama.
Rodriguez opened the scoring just before the half-hour mark at the Estadi Josep Pla i Arbonès, pouncing on a defensive mix-up to convert from close range.
The striker was the only player who featured in the opening 45 minutes to continue after the break.
He slotted in his second after 67 minutes, shortly after the Spanish side had equalised.
Saints first-half: K Davis, Chambers, Fonte, Turnbull, Fox, Cork, S Davis, Ward-Prowse, Puncheon, Rodriguez, Do Prado.
Saints second-half: Gazzaniga, Clyne, Stephens, Lovren, Shaw, Wanyama, Schneiderlin, Isgrove, Rodriguez, Lallana, Lambert.
