Franny Benali was always up front in the pre-season workouts, whether it was running around the track, going up hills or in the gymnasium.
But the task he is setting out to do this Sunday is monumental compared to what any other sportsman has attempted so far.
He is setting off from St James’ Park, Newcastle, to complete more than 1,000 miles by running to each Premier League ground, finishing at St Mary’s on Saturday, September 13, where I am sure he will get a standing ovation.
He is doing something no one else has tried, covering 40-50 miles every day for 21 days, and all to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
Franny has always been a fantastic professional, a wonderful family man and one of the most popular players ever at Saints.
We should all wish him well, get behind him and if you wish to help him hit his high targets you can donate by texting BIGR55 £3 to 70070 or via Justgiving by visiting www.benalisbigrun.co.uk
