George Burley is hoping the international break will give him time to get his squad back in shape.
A run of four games in 12 days, which yielded just one point, took its toll with some of Saints' most experienced stars being sidelined for some or all of the matches.
None of the four injured players - Kenwyne Jones (ankle), Darren Powell (concussion), Djamel Belmadi (calf) and Chris Baird (groin) - are guaranteed to be back for the trip to Wolves a week on Saturday.
But the international break this weekend gives them a fighting chance.
Burley said last night: "I'm glad we have got the break.
"It gives us more chance for Kenwyne Jones, Djamel Belmadi, Darren Powell and Chris Baird to try and get fit.
"It gives them an extra week and we'll see how they progress. It gives them a little bit longer".
