Manchester City are lining up a huge £20m bid for a Saints youngster, it has been reported.
The Sunday People reports that the reigning Premier League champions are planning to swoop for James Ward-Prowse this summer.
The midfielder - who scored for England U21s during the week - recently signed a new five year deal at St Mary's.
Roy Hodgson has already earmarked Ward-Prowse as a future full international and the newspaper claims that Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham are also monitoring the midfielder.
Meanwhile, The Sun of Sunday reports Saints are considering bringing in Chelsea's Petr Cech as cover for the injured Fraser Forster.
Cech, 32, has recently been replaced as number one at Stamford Bridge by Thibaut Courtois.
It is claimed Saints would try and land the Czech 'keeper on a loan deal.
