TERRY Azor’s excellent form continued into 2022 as he guided Chandlers Ford Central to a 5-1 win away at Curdridge RBL in the Southampton Billiards League.

The victory sees them move joint top of the table.

Curdridge took the lead through Robin Smith, but that was as good as it got. Korbin Lowe made a 32 break on his way to beating home captain Clive Gamblin.

Azor, with breaks of 53 and 31, and John Mullane (53, 83 and 58), then took centre stage with wins over Derek Fry and Brian Bull respectively.

Trevor Thorn then completed the win with breaks of 38 and 43.

St Denys Cons got their second win of the season, at home against last year's runners-up Churchills Eastleigh.

Derek Foster was in fine form for Churchills, winning the first game of the evening with breaks of 45 and 39, but Malc Willis cancelled out the lead by beating Mike Henstredge by 18 points.

Adie Bridger and Steve Scott wins kept the tie well poised, before St Denys' Chris Bishop (37 and 43) showed why he remains unbeaten this season and second in the player rankings. He dispatched of Churchills captain Paul Adams (40) by a massive 168 points, to earn his side a 4-2 victory.

Hamble Social moved top with a 4-2 win away at Sarisbury Social.

Captain Nick Wood played twice for Hamble, winning his first with a 42 break, but losing his second by 74 points against John Oldfield.

Paul Knights and Mark Spridgeon both had victories for Hamble, before Kaz Remzi got one back for the home side.
