YOUNG forward Nick Oyekunle said it is "every boy's dream" after signing his first professional contract at Southampton until 2026.
The 17 year old penned scholarship terms in the summer and has enjoyed a productive first half of the 2023-24 season, earning his first professional deal at the start of the year.
Having been with the club since the age of six, Oyekunle has risen through the academy ranks to become an Under-18s regular and made his Under-21s debut this campaign.
"It's every boy's dream." the youngster said after penning his new deal, "I want to say thank you to the club for trusting me.
"I've put a lot of work in and I've been here for a long time so it's good that I've finally got a professional contract."
Academy director Andy Goldie, added “Nick is the latest scholar to earn a professional contract and secure his future in the academy.
"He's in impressive form with the Under-18s this season whilst also gaining his first opportunities with the Under-21s.
"Rewarding him with another two years provides him with the time and opportunity to continue learning his craft as a striker, and refining his all-round performance as we look to help him progress further through the pathway here."
