SOUTHAMPTON'S sister club Göztepe have been promoted to the Turkish Super Lig after a 2-0 win over Genclerbirligi.
Saints goalkeeper Mateusz Lis has played an important role in their promotion, keeping 20 clean sheets and conceding just 18 goals across 31 matches.
Göztepe have become the first team to get promoted under Sport Republic, while French side Valenciennes have been relegated from Ligue 2 this season.

Southampton are aiming to follow Göztepe's lead by getting promoted back to the Premier League via the playoffs.
Russell Martin's side are currently fourth in the Championship but have lost their last three games.
They face fellow promotion hopefuls Leeds United on the final day of the season, whom they could meet again in the playoff final.
