FIVE of Nigel Adkins' promotion-chasing Saints stars were last night voted into the PFA League One Team of the Year.
That was two more than runaway champions Brighton had, while Saints had more players in their divisional XI than any other club managed in the top four divisions.
The Saints honoured by their fellow professionals were goalkeeper Kelvin Davis, left back Dan Harding, centre half Jose Fonte and midfield pair Alex Chamberlain and Adam Lallana.
Ex-Saint Bradley Wright-Phillips was one of the strikers chosen ahead of Rickie Lambert, with Peterborough's 30-goal Craig Mackail-Smith the other forward named.
Davis was named in the League One XI for the second season running - he was one of three Saints, along with Lambert and Jason Puncheon, named in the 2009/10 select side.
As a result, the goalkeeper becomes the first Saint for several years to win two PFA divisional nominations.
Gareth Bale was in the Championship XI in 2006/07 while Wayne Bridge was named in the Premiership XI in 2001/02.
Champions Brighton, who host Saints next weekend, had three players in the 2010/11 League One XI.
Right back Inigo Calderon, who almost signed for Saints last summer, was chosen along with centre half Gordon Greer and midfielder Elliott Bennett.
Huddersfield's Anthony Pilkington was the fourth midfielder honoured by his fellow third tier professionals.
