TICKETs are still available for the historic first day of Test cricket at The Rose Bowl.

England play Sri Lanka in the third npower Test on Thursday, but Hampshire Cricket are disappointed with sales so far.

The third day is nearly a sell out but there are several seats going spare for the opening day of the south coast’s first Test match.

Tickets are also still available for the second day.

“We’re somewhat disappointed, we would have thought with history being made there would be a bigger demand,” admitted Zac Toumazi, the Rose Bowl’s commercial director.

“We’ve sold very respectable numbers overall but the sales for the first day have been quieter than we would have liked.

“We’ve done ok, people have embraced the Saturday and are still buying tickets so we’re hopeful. But it takes years to build up a Test match following.”

Tickets for non-members during the first three days are priced at £65 (Northern End), £60 (Main Arena), £39 (Third Man) and £55 (Upper Main Arena).

They can be ordered at rosebowlplc.com or by ringing 0870 243 0291.
