TADANARI Lee has all the attributes to be a success in England, according to a Japanese football expert.
Saints confirmed yesterday that they will sign the striker, subject to him receiving a work permit.
The 26-year-old Japanese international is training with the club until he is given clearance to officially join.
Lee will transfer from top-flight J League side Sanfrecce Hiroshima.
Reports from Japan have suggested he has agreed a two-and-a-half-year deal, and will receive £800,000 a year in wages – with that rising to £1.2m if the club reaches the Premier League.
The earliest Lee is likely to make his debut would be the trip to Nottingham Forest, on Saturday, January 14.
Japan-based football journalist Sean Carroll knows Lee and has documented his progress over the past few years.
He believes the forward will fit well into the Championship.
