Richard Chaplow has insisted he has no intention of leaving Saints, after being linked with a move to Crystal Palace.
A report yesterday suggested the midfielder was set to turn down a switch to the Eagles in order to stay and fight for a place at St Mary’s.
The 27-year-old said he would not be leaving, but revealed he knew nothing of any potential interest from Selhurst Park.
He wrote on Twitter: “I ain't going anywhere 1/ because I don't want and 2/ because saints don't want me to! Can't snub something you know nothing about #baffled”
Chaplow has made 63 appearances for Saints since initially joining on loan in September 2010.
His dynamic presence in midfield proved vital at stages last season, as he played an important role in promotion from the Championship .
Chaplow, who signed permanently in January 2011, is currently in his second spell with the club, having ended the 2005/06 campaign at St Mary’s on loan from West Brom.
The former Burnley trainee faces stiff competition for a place in the team this season, with manager Nigel Adkins having already added ex-Rangers captain Steven Davis to his midfield ranks.
