WIDEMAN Gary McSheffrey has parted company with Eastleigh by mutual consent.
The former £4 million man joined the Spitfires at the start of September after spending last season with promoted League Two outfit Doncaster Rovers.
He was a free agent on arriving at the Silverlake and penned a deal until January.
But the Coventry-born 35-year-old was still located up north and it was agreed that he would end his contract early to give him more time to be with his family.
The former Coventry City and Birmingham City forward said: "I’d like to thank everybody involved with Eastleigh FC for my short spell there.
"After a discussion with the manager, we agreed to bring my contract to an early end as it was proving difficult logistically with a young family.
"I wish them all the best and hope they can achieve their ambitions of being a football league club in the future.”
McSheffrey made 11 appearances for the Spitfires, scoring two goals for the Vanarama National League club.
An EFC statement said: "The club would like to thank Gary for his contributions to Eastleigh FC and wish him well in his future endeavours."
