EASTLEIGH midfielder Cavaghn Miley has been called into Paul Fairclough’s England C squad.
Along with fellow youngster Sam Matthews – named Spitfires’ player and players’ player-of-theseason on Saturday – Miley has been one of the shining lights of an otherwise underwhelming season for the National League club.
Jersey boy Miley signed for Eastleigh last summer on the recommendation of former Aston Villa boss Brian Little and, along with AFC Bournemouth loanee Matthews, has brought fresh energy to the side.
He is joined in the England C squad by Sutton United’s Southampton-based marksman Tommy Wright, who has also played for Otterbourne and Salisbury (loan).
Fairclough’s charges have a friendly lined up against an FA of Ireland Amatuer International XI next month. It will be played at the Whitehall Stadium, Dublin, on Sunday, May 27 (2.15pm).
