Melanie Wilson is aiming to continue her good form this year and force her way into the medals in the women’s quadruple scull at London 2012.
The Southampton -born rower, below, has already earned bronze in two of the three world cup events this year, along with the rest of the crew.
Although she was born in the city, Wilson grew up in Hong Kong, before returning to England to study biochemistry at the University of Nottingham.
After her studies, she worked in a research laboratory in Kenya before moving to London. She accepted a place at Imperial College to read medicine in October 2009 and is training to be a doctor.
