Two decades ago, the annual Hamble Valley Food and Drink Festival made a significant impact by drawing in 24,000 attendees and generating approximately £384,000 in sales over the course of the festival fortnight.
These pictures were taken during those tasty two weeks in June 2004.
Hamble Valley Tourism - the branding for tourism services provided by Eastleigh Council - released figures the year before showing that tourism was worth more than £77m to the Eastleigh borough.
UK visitors were said to spend almost £60m a year in the borough and visitor spending sustained an estimated 2,254 jobs either directly or indirectly.
The long-running Hamble Food Festival has been a vital part of the social calendar for the Eastleigh borough for decades now and will return on September 7, 2024, at Foreshore Car Park, Hamble.
The event is free and will take place between 10am and 3pm. An array of fresh, locally sourced produce such as vegetables, free-range meats, honey, preserves, plants, beverages, baked goods, and more will be available.
