HAMPSHIRE’S oldest and largest coach firm has splashed out on a revamp.
Family firm Lucketts Travel, based in Fareham, has unveiled a new look for 2013 for its seven new hi-tech coaches.
This comes after the 90- year-old firm, which employs 177 drivers, ploughed £2m into the vehicles, some operating under its umbrella including Coliseum Coaches and Worthing Coaches.
As well as the boost to the fleet the firm has now begun expanding its headquarters to include a training area and offices.
Director Ian Luckett said: “As a family firm we have always been focused on delivering the highest levels of customer service and satisfaction.
“To achieve this in a competitive market, and to keep our place above the crowd, we continue to invest heavily in areas of our business that make a big difference to our passengers.
“By operating the latest eco-friendly vehicles, driven by staff who receive industry-leading training, we are able to deliver high quality travel at the best prices.”
The firm, one of the UK’s largest coach travel companies, last year won the RouteOne award for the Large Coach Operator of the Year.
In 2005 it acquired Worthing Coaches, and in 2012 added Coliseum Coaches to its portfolio.
The company is another family-owned business with a rich heritage.
