ONE of Hampshire’s top hotels has been crowned the best in Britain.
The five-star Chewton Glen in Christchurch Road, New Milton, has been named the No.1 UK holiday hotel at a prestigious award ceremony.
The award is particularly special for the hotel as it was voted for by the readers of Conde Nast Traveller magazine, who praised the staff for their outstanding service.
Speaking at the ceremony, Andrew Stembridge, the hotel’s managing director, said: “We have a dedicated and passionate management team whose aim is always to exceed our guests’ expectations.
“I am tremendously proud of their achievements highlighted in this award, which makes particular note that Chewton Glen is the best hotel in the UK for service.”
The popular hotel has gone from strength to strength since its treehouse suites were opened in 2012.
A Chewton Glen spokesman added: “The hotel was delighted that this year’s comments related directly to the team and are proud that it still stands firmly at the forefront in the UK hotel luxury market for outstanding service.”
At another champagne reception across town, Chewton Glen’s sister hotel, Cliveden House, picked up Best Newcomer in the latest Waitrose Good Food Awards.
