BUILDERS planning to bare their backs this summer on George Wimpey developments in the region are being given sun-tan cream to protect their skin.
The handing out of high factor lotions each morning has been made mandatory at the company's Hampshire sites.
Tony Brzostowski, sales manager, explains: "Our builders working outdoors are exposed to the sun for long hours.
"As employers, we are legally responsible for the health and safety of employees at work. And, just like hard hats and protective clothing, sun tan cream is now top of the agenda."
George Wimpey Southern Counties is currently developing on sites at: Kings Copse, Winchester; Knights Grove, Southampton; Serenity, Whitchurch and The Aspects, Fareham.
