SOUTHAMPTON printer Nick Bowler joined celebrity ecologist David Bellamy to plant the first of a planned 25,000 trees as part of one of the UK's largest carbon offset campaigns.

Printing.com has committed to plant a tree for every eight orders it receives.

Last year customers in Southampton helped the company fund the planting of 10,000 trees. This year the aim is to pass the 25,000 barrier.

Professor David Bellamy, who is lending his support to the campaign, said it was "a real commitment to healing our environment which can be a benefit to us, not just now, but for years to come."

Staff at printing.com Southampton donned their Wellingtons to help David plant the first few trees.

"For many years all of our paper has been sourced from sustainable forests," said Nick. "But this represents one more way that we can reduce our carbon footprint and that of our clients."

Clients supporting the campaign are entitled to display the Bellamy Tree Appeal logo.
