MILFORD on Sea's Rouille restaurant has been sold to a Southampton-based restaurateur for around £450,000.
Mohammed Muktadir bought the High Street restaurant from Phil and Janine Cooper, who had owned and operated it for four years.
The pair are now venturing into the pub trade, having recently taken on the Crown Inn in Everton, near Lymington.
Mr Muktadir bought the freehold of the Rouille, which is just three miles from Lymington and occupies a refurbished period property with a 30-cover restaurant and bar area.
The property also has a three-bedroom owners' accommodation on the first floor.
Vicky Moody of agents Christie + Co said: "Freehold restaurants are rarely available in this highly sought-after area of Hampshire and we received a high level of interest from prospective purchasers."
