GIVEN the recent deluge, Junior Chamber International's latest charity fundraiser could have applications closer to home than they anticipated.
Volunteers from the young professionals' business group held a mile-long water-carry on Southampton Common for its designated charity WaterAid.
The chamber's community director, Ciaran Greenwood of Grant Thornton, said: "It is great to support this charity, and it gives young professionals the chance to get involved in community activities where they might not normally do so."
The event raised more than £200 for WaterAid, which helps some of the world's poorest communities set up and maintain their own water and sanitation projects.
