HAMPSHIRE based satellite navigation giant Garmin has found its way on to the shirts of Middlesbrough FC, exposing its brand to millions of Premiership football fans.
The sponsorship deal, for an undisclosed sum, sees the Garmin name on the home and away kits for the next 12 months.
Players will also use Garmin kit to help their training and to find their way to games.
Garmin has its European headquarters at Totton after moving from Romsey earlier this year.
Clive Taylor, Garmin marketing director, said: "We are very excited to be sponsoring Middles-brough his season both on and off the pitch. Garmin is looking to improve its brand awareness of its excellent sat-nav products and we are also dedicated to improving performance in sport and fitness with a range of purpose-designed products."
Graham Fordy, spokesman for Middlesbrough FC, said: "The deal is initially for 12 months but we are already in discussions about extending the sponsorship into a second year."
