COMMUNICATIONS agency The Remarkable Group has been shortlisted for a Chartered Institute of Public Relations award.

The Southampton agency was chosen from thousands of entries to win a place on the shortlist for the Best Integrated Communications Campaign in the Home Counties South and Wessex region for work for waste disposal firm Hippowaste.

The 12-month campaign generated more than £250,000-worth of press coverage as well as a number of broadcast opportunities including product appearances on BBC's Money Programme and Channel 5's Hotel Inspector.

Hippowaste saw sales soar and won three awards, including Royal Bank of Scotland's Regional Business of the Year for Hampshire.

Remarkable, which has its headquarters in the city centre, has more than 40 clients and employs over 30 staff.

Colin Farrington, CIPR general chairman of the judges, said: "The finalists are testament to the good work going on outside London and across sectors.

They should feel proud of their and their chosen profession's invaluable contribution to business and society.

" Stephen Pomeroy, chief executive at Remarkable, said: "Reaching the final shortlist demonstrates how our work is judged to be among the best in the UK.

We're now looking forward to the awards ceremony."

The overall winner of the category will be announced at an awards black tie presentation dinner in Brighton in November.
