MARINE outfitters Trimline have been working flat out helping to put the finishing touches to the P&O liner Ventura in Southamp-ton before her round of naming celebrations and subsequent maiden voyage this week.
The 115,000-ton giant arrived from her builders in Italy with Trimline staff already familiar with the ship, after installing curtain tracks and soft furnishings in more than 2,000 cabins.
Trimline, which is based in Southampton, has manufactured some 18,000 items for 1,500 passenger cabins and more than 600 crew cabins.
Among the items supplied were window curtains, bed valances, bed throws and scatter cushions.
Once Ventura docked in the city, a team of Trimline experts were called on board again to carry out various tasks throughout the ship, working on cabins, public rooms, offices, shops, officers areas and the gym.
Trimline sales and marketing director Mike Oliver said: "We have been carrying out various jobs from fitting additional curtains to securing artwork to making and fitting furniture. It is a collection of last-minute jobs that are always necessary before a ship is finally ready to accept her first passenger."
