HAMPSHIRE’S Brazier Interior Systems has won the £1m contract for fitting out Carnival UK’s new HQ in Southampton.
Workers from the Totton firm are now starting work on installing partitions and suspended ceilings in the landmark 210,000sqft building in West Quay Road.
Carnival UK, which owns famous cruise lines such as Cunard and P&O, started construction in the spring of 2007 and finished in December.
Roy Martin, managing director of Brazier Interior Systems, says he is proud to be associated with such a key building for Southampton.
“After several months of design and negotiation, this contract will ensure the security of many jobs during what could be a difficult year ahead,” he added.
“This development will have a positive effect on the economy of the city. It will create more local jobs and welcome even more cruise passengers and it will also encourage other large companies to put down roots in the region, thus helping to reinforce the commercial importance of Southampton.”
