ALEX Hayes, the commercial director at Southampton-based distribution firm Boyes Conning, grits his teeth during a charity truck pull in aid of a cancer charity for men.
He was one of 12 teams tasked with pulling an 18-ton truck 50ft in the fastest time at the firm's base in Woolston. More than £1,250 was raised, with pledges still coming in.
Boyes Conning also raised a further £2,000 with a ten-mile sponsored walk in the New Forest.
The firm is a member of the Palletways network the largest pallet network in the UK, with 100 small consignment depots.
Palletways is trying to raise £100,000 in a year for Everyman, which raises awareness and funds research into testicular and prostate cancer.
