WINNER: Seventeen-year-old Francesca Ardani from Fareham College with her Young Apprentice of the Year award and presenter Charlotte Hawkins.
A TRAINEE hairdresser has been named young apprentice of the year at the South East Skills Awards.
Francesca Ardani, 17, from Fareham College, has been undergoing an apprenticeship with Capelli Hair in Park Gate.
She was the first student from the college to do a young apprenticeship.
She said: “I’d encourage everyone to think about the opportunities being an apprentice can give you.”
Francesca will go on to compete against regional winners from across the country at the National Apprenticeship Awards next month.
Financial services giant Skandia UK won the large employer of the year at the awards.
