CHAMPIONS of Hampshire’s food and hospitality industry are toasting a former newspaperman as its new chairman.
County Food Group, have appointed Michael Wright, a former managing director of Newquest Dorset, to steer Hampshire Fare beyond its up and coming 20 th anniversary.
Mr Wright, who recently took early retirement, is stepping into the shoes of Derek Beaves, who is standing down after ten “proud” years in the voluntary role.
Mr Wright said: “I intend to work with the team to develop and strengthen our brand across Hampshire for the benefit of our members”.
Hampshire Fare represents around 200 businesses across the county, ranging from local food and drink producers to hospitality venues and independent shops that sell or serve local food and drink.
