Last year Connells Southern Region sold in excess of 350 new homes units on behalf of house builders and housing associations, an increase of 22% on 2011 figures.
“This significant uplift clearly demonstrates not only that buyers are back in force, but also Connells’ dominance of the new homes market in Dorset, Hampshire and Wiltshire,” says Regional New Homes Director Tom Bateson.
“We work for many major PLC house builders and I think our sales performance of over 350 units is probably higher than that achieved by most of their regional operations.”
Tom attributes much of the company’s success to the strong partnership between the specialist new homes team of himself, Tammy Warren and Viv Denyer and Connells 25 estate agency branches throughout the region.
“Unlike many other estate agencies who have separate new homes operations, Connells offers a co-ordinated approach with dedicated new homes staff working alongside the sales teams in our branches,” he explains.
“One of the benefits of this is that there are no specialist offices in isolation meaning the developer can rest assured that his/her homes are being offered alongside the second-hand market by the highly trained sales staff in our network of branches.”
This integrated approach was remarked upon by independent judges in the 2012 Estate Agency of the Year Awards where Connells was a winner in the New Homes category.
They commented that ‘all employees in the sales departments have profound knowledge and experience at grass roots level, backed by huge national resource’.
