The launch of Barratt’s latest new development in Southampton is set to give the city a jobs, homes and community boost.
More than 250 new jobs will be created at Cardinal Park in Maybush where the five star housebuilder is building 141 new homes. The development will also feature a children’s play area and public art.
The majority of the new jobs created are expected to be filled by local people with the construction project set to benefit a wide range of local sub-contractors, supply chain and provide valuable apprenticeship opportunities. The launch of the first two, three and four bedroom homes is set for September and Barratt sales director Michelle Storer said the development was good news for the whole city.
“As a leading housebuilder in the region our developments underpin hundreds of jobs in local communities and we are delighted to continue this commitment at Cardinal Park.’’ The launch at Cardinal Park comes at a time of increased buyer confidence – particularly on the back of the popularity of Help to Buy, the government-backed scheme to help more people buy a new home.
In addition to creating new jobs and a range of homes for buyers in Southampton, Barratt’s work at Cardinal Park will also include the creation of a dedicated play area.
