BUYERS paid more than expected for some parcels of land being sold by Southern Water at Otterbourne.
The firm has put several plots that surround its premises on the village’s outskirts up for sale in recent months.
The latest three to come on the market were due to be sold by auctioneers, Clive Emson, at the Rose Bowl.
However, the smallest site, which was around 14 acres, and carried a guide price of up to £25,000, was sold for an undisclosed sum before the event started.
A 44-acre lot was then sold for £135,000, which was £5,000 more than the guide price. The third plot, which was 36 acres and went for £50,000, was also £5,000 above the expected fee.
The parcels of land lie next to the Itchen Navigation, and are part of Otterbourne Farm.
