DO YOU ever dream of being able to drive as fast as you want and racing other people down a racetrack? Well, wake up dreamer because I have the thing just for you, Ko-Karting!

It just so happens that TeamSport Go Karting, a new go-karting track has opened its doors again after three months of refurbishments.

As I walked into the brand-new-looking building, I was welcomed by a sign that said, ‘It’s about to get awesome’.

To the left of me, there was a mini-golf course and a dining area which looked really cosy and atmospheric.

I registered and was quickly given a karting suit and headed into the changing rooms to get changed and store my valuables in the locker.

Following that, we had a briefing on the rules while out on the track - it was clear with a video giving us all the necessary information.

As soon as that finished, we were given our helmets and the moment I was waiting for finally came, I stepped into the kart and finally took off.

The tracks are wide enough that when you’re driving you can overtake which makes the experience just a lot more enjoyable, just make sure you’re doing it on the straight part otherwise you might find yourself hitting the walls at an uncomfortably high speed, especially if you pressed the boost button a few seconds before – that’s right there’s a speed boost button!

The race lasted around 15 minutes, but you can have multiple bookings with a break in the middle to grab a drink, but unfortunately, I had to get back to (more serious) work.

My final thoughts are that if you are looking for a good day out with some friends and/or family then you will not be disappointed, whether you’re eight or eighty you will be having lots of fun.

If you’re not into go-karting you will also be able to play mini-golf or have a go at the arcade.

If you’re hungry you can sit down for some great food and a drink. For adults, there is also a bar available.
