Come and find out more about cooking with local and seasonal produce at the free ‘Taste the Distance’ cookery demonstration and food tasting session in Bishop’s Waltham tomorrow, Saturday February 27.
Home economist Davina Tibbetts, pictured, will be cooking two versions of the same recipe; one with all the ingredients from as locally as possible and the other version with all the ingredients from as far away as possible. Taste both and discuss the differences, ecological impacts and where to get the local products from.
Find out where you can buy locally produced food, what’s in season when, and understand the ecological impact of the food we eat. There will be children’s activities and the chance to win a local produce hamper. Organised by Future Proof Bishop’s Waltham, this runs from 12noon to 2pm in the Jubilee Hall at Bishop’s Waltham, with Davina’s cookery demonstration at 12.30pm.
