SINCE The Vaccines burst onto the scene in 2011, they have gone from strength to strength. Their second album Come of Age stormed to number 1 and saw the band nominated for a host of awards. Despite this phenomenal success, which has seen them play major arenas, on Tuesday they will be back in more intimate surroundings, playing a sold out benefit gig for The Joiners.

Having opened back in the 60s, The Joiners has been host to many incredible acts including Coldplay, Oasis and Green Day and has been described as “a place you have to play to make it”. Since falling on hard times and at risk of closure, bands are doing anything they can to help out, including Frank Turner playing two recordbreaking shows.

The Vaccines who have previously won the title of Britain’s best new band, will treat audiences at the 150 capacity venue, to highlights from both of their albums including singles I always knew, Teenage Icon and If you wanna.

Having opened for some of the biggest acts in music including The Arctic Monkeys and Red Hot Chilli Peppers, the indie band has just announced a headlining tour including a date at the O2 arena.

Lead singer Justin Young, who hails from Hampshire, confirmed that all profit from the show will be donated to the Joiners.

Rich Levene will also be doing a DJ set. As part of the S.T.E. Collective he put on hundreds of punk gigs at the Joiners between 1988 and 2002 and gave Justin his first ever gig when he was a 14 year old.
