IT promises to be a hand clappin’ foot stompin’ hot running soul night.
Geno Washington and his Ram Jam Band will be at The Concorde tonight.
A cult hero of the 60s soul scene, 69 year-old Geno’s electrifying stage performance has made him a firm favourite for Soul, R&B and Northern Soul fans.
He has been hailed as one of the greatest frontmen from the latter half of the 20th century.
Without ever having had a number one single, the charismatic singer had two of the best selling UK albums of the sixties.
Amazingly both of these were live albums.
Hand Clappin’ Foot Stompin’ Funky Butt Live was in the UK albums charts for 48 out of 52 weeks in 1966.
Only The Sound of Music and Bridge Over Troubled Water sold more copies in the UK that year.
Guaranteed to get The Concorde audience’s feet tapping will be other hits from Geno Washington and The Ram Jam Band playlist including Michael, Que Sera Sera, She Shot A Hole in My Soul and Hurt By Love.
