The unique five-piece band from Swindon, The Dead Lay Waiting are coming to Southampton on Sunday.
Hailed as one of the UK’s best modern-metal live acts, the band have toured extensively with their heavy sound.
They made an impact on the local music scene almost immediately after they starting writing and have gone on to play Download festival, and been nominated as Best Newcomer by Kerrang! and Best Underground band by Metal Hammer.
Playing songs from their acclaimed albums We Rise and Almost Heaven, the band’s progressive-edged twin guitar metal sound creating complex and fresh riffs, combined with aggressive approaches and catchy vocal lines, will cement the amazing reputaton they have for playing live.

Influential guitarist John Etheridge, pictured right, is bringing his respected to Totton tomorrow.
The guitarist for the celebrated jazz violinist Stephane Grappelli, Etheridge currently duos with the eminent classical guitarist, John Williams and has also performed with Soft Machine, Pat Metheny, Andy Summers and Nigel Kennedy.
He has been described as a prodigiously gifted and creative player whose approach to music can only be described as ‘eclectic’ as he refuses to accommodate or even acknowledge artificial musical boundaries.
This is a rare opportunity to see John play a solo concert and one not to be missed.
AT THE CONCORDE CLUB...
Acclaimed eight-piece Rufus Stone have been performing constantly since they formed in the 80s.
The local Southampton band have played at every type of venue and their list of credits are performances and tours with the likes of Edwin Starr, Curtis Mayfield, Ben E King, Jimmy Ruffin and many more of soul music’s greats.
Lead vocalist Malc Eyers describes how they manage to keep audiences so entertained after 25 years: “Rufus Stone have always been very visual and audience participation is an integral part of our performance”. Their energy filled set and bluesy sound mean that Rufus Stone will make any night unique. They’re on stage tomorrow night.
