- WHEN The Temperance Seven first hit the top of the charts in 1961 with a style considered 40 years out of date, no one could predict that they would still be playing and attracting audiences from across the world all these years later.
Whatever your taste in jazz, The Temperance Seven will have something for you on a playlist that includes classics from the past, original compositions and novelty numbers.
They play The Concorde Club on Wednesday.
- THE official launch of Southampton Youth Orchestra is happening tomorrow at the Nuffield Theatre with a performance of L’Orfeo. The opera by Monteverdi contains the timeless themes of joy, passion, despair and loss, and is framed by a more contemporary setting and presented in an English translation.
The performance will tell the classic tale of a musician’s search for lost love.
