• AFTER being spotted by Doreen Davies, then head of Radio 2, Neville Dickie went on to have phenomenal success.

His 1975 album Back To Boogie sold 100,000 copies and he remains one of the few British Jazz pianists to have had a record in the Hit Parade. Now having more than 20 CDs under his belt, Neville is much in demand all over the world and is regarded as one of the world’s finest exponents of Stride Piano.

His Trio continues to entertain crowds all over the country and his band The Rhythmakers is always in demand. Neville and his band will be playing at The Concorde Club on Wednesday.

  • AFTER forming in 1991, Dennis Armstrong’s Great Northern Jazz Band have since been touring all across the country.

Well known as founder of the Yorkshire Post Jazz Band, Dennis is also leader of the Great Northern Jazz Band and Armstrong’s Oliver Band, which is dedicated to keeping the spirit of Joe Oliver’s music very much alive.

He also leads his Western Jazz Band and Bristol Blue Five. A formidable cornettist, his strong and melodic playing provides a firm lead for the rest of the band.

The jazz group will be playing at The Concorde Club on Sunday.
