“THE sky is the limit”.

That’s the heady goal of rising Southampton four-piece band Endless Remedy, who are wowing crowds up and down the country with their self-proclaimed brand of “pop rock”.

The city lads, who grew up in Millbrook and Bitterne, take their influences from bands such as The Script and One Republic while tapping into the hard-rocking riffs of Foo Fighters and Biffy Clyro to create a unique slice of melodic brilliance.

They have dozens of live shows under their belts and already have slots booked for the upcoming Great Escape and Tramlines festivals – as well as a UK tour starting at Southampton’s own The Joiners tomorrow.

At the tender age of 21, lead singer and guitarist Sean Smith has confidence in abundance and has full belief in the band’s ability.

Sean hopes the release of forthcoming single – I Still Love You – will catapult them to bigger things.

He told the Daily Echo: “We’ve had singles out and stuff but they have never been as important as the one we are about to release.

“It’s under a label and it could be the stepping stone for something even bigger.

“The sky is the limit.”

The foundations for the group were laid when Sean attended a college performance of the West End production of We Will Rock You.

It was during this show he unearthed the talents of bass guitarist Dan Kelly, and lead guitarist Jack Wilson, who were the show’s musicians.

Singer-songwriter Sean later got in touch with the pair and they agreed to join him and drummer Scott McGregor, to form Endless Remedy.

He said: “I call our genre pop rock. My influences are very much bands like The Script, One Republic, and the Killers, while the other two are much into Biffy Clyro and the Foo Fighters – that’s what gives us a unique sound.

“We are one of those bands that if you don’t really like us, you will still like the music. It gives us an appeal but we do need a bit more exposure.”

Sean believes Southampton is a hotbed of talent, with venues such as The Joiners and the Talking Heads giving emerging artists a platform to showcase their music, but not enough people are turning out for gigs, with many preferring to watch talent shows such as the X Factor and The Voice.

“I wish Southampton had a bit more pull,” Sean said.

“I wish people would go down and see the amount of brilliant musicians that don’t get the credit. It’s a shame.

“People are trying to watch talent on the telly when they should be watching it at The Joiners.

“In five years I would like us to tour the world – why not?

“Our friends and family are so supportive of us and I cannot thank them enough. They go to see us everywhere.”
