HE’S the former Southampton school pupil preparing to release a new album with his prestigious prize-winning band.
Alt-J, whose guitarist is former Cantell School pupil Joe Newman, will release their second album This is All Yours on September 22 through Infectious Music.
The release coincides with a UK tour stopping at Glasgow, Manchester, Wolverhampton, Brighton and London, before hitting Dublin, Ireland.
Joe, from Highfield, hit the headlines when Alt-J won the UK music industry’s top prize in January 2013 for their album An Awesome Wave.
The well-received Hunger of the Pine, the first single released from This is All Yours, features a sample from Miley Cyrus.
Joe is just one of the many talented pupils to have attended the Violet Road school, with Coldplay drummer Will Champion and rising star Foxes also gracing its halls.
