ARGUABLY the UK’s number one fully live tribute to the ever fascinating – if more than a little troubled – diva Amy Winehouse, Maybe Winehouse, plays at The Brook next Friday within its standard format as a six-piece band featuring drums, keyboards, guitar, bass, saxophone and vocals.
Recommended by Radio 2 presenter Steve Wright, the show recreates the distinctive jazzy sounds of an Amy gig with a singer that (hopefully) won’t be slurring the words or fighting with members of the audience! Singer Rachel Rabin certainly looks the part and if reports from clubs, theatres and festivals are to be believed she sounds it as well.
