MADNESS, Britain’s very own pioneers of ska, will return to the stage later this year with three massive open air concerts, including one at Romsey’s Broadlands.

The date, on Saturday, July 18, will mark the band’s 30-year anniversary.

The original band members – the ever-charismatic Suggs, Mike Barson (Monsieur Barso), Lee Thompson (Kix), Chris Foreman (Chrissy Boy), Daniel Woodgate (Woody), Mark Bedford (Bedders) and Carl Smyth (Chas Smash) – will take to the stage.

The two-time Ivor Novello Award-winning band and MOJO Hall of Fame Award winners shot to fame in the 80s with huge hits such as Baggy Trousers, It Must Be Love, House of Fun and debut album One Step Beyond.

They went on to release a further seven albums, their most recent being 2005’s The Dangermen Sessions Vol.1. Their eagerly anticipated eighth album, The Liberty of Norton Folgate, is due for release this year.

Madness will be supported by Aswad and The Dualers. For tickets call 0871 224 1113, or visit ticketeast.co.uk.
