EBONY Bones is back.
She is set to release her self-produced debut album Bone of My Bones in June.
But before that, The Muzik, the first new track from Ms Bones since the brace of singles she self-released nearly a year ago, is out on Monday.
The writing has been on the wall for some time that Ebony Bones is a special talent.
Her multi-coloured pop first emerged at the end of 2007 with the self-produced We Know All About U. It was Record Of The Week on Zane Lowe’s BBC Radio 1 show, a trick that was repeated with her second single Don’t Fart On My Heart.
She drew praise wherever she went, with The Guardian probably summing her up best as “the sound of X-Ray Spex getting hammered with Derrick May and Girls Aloud”.
Famed for her all-action, carnivalesque live shows, Bones is hitting the road in May, joining dan le sac on the Rob da Bank & Friends UK tour.
It’s a brilliant, eclectic bill of some of the most exciting acts out there and comes to Southampton’s Orange Rooms on Thursday.
Tickets are available in advance from orangerooms.co.uk or on the door.
