THE boys will be making sure everything is all Wight as Editors, The Courteeners, Reef, Noah and the Whale, Devendra Banhart and The Coronas join the impressive Isle of Wight Festival line-up.
The mighty Editors, band of the moment The Courteeners and Irish four-piece The Coronas play the Main Stage on Sunday, while the recently reformed Reef will be over in the Big Top.
Flying the flag for the boys on Saturday, critics’ choice Noah and the Whale and American favourite Devendra Banhart will be a big draw in the Big Top.
With third album In This Light And On This Evening debuting at number one in the UK and delivering top ten placings throughout Europe, Editors are now one of the biggest acts in the UK.
Already million-selling artists before the release of that third album, the band have a welldeserved reputation for stunning live performances.
Manchester four-piece The Courteeners ended 2009 by playing the biggest gig of their career to date to 10,000 fans.
Following the success of their debut album St Jude, the band are tipped for big things this year with the release of follow-up The Falcon.
A new decade heralds the return of the unstoppable force of nature that is Reef, as the West Country’s favourite sons reform for a nationwide tour. The band formed back in 1993 and their second album produced the anthemic Place Your Hands.
Noah and the Whale are Charlie Fink, Doug Fink, Tom Hobden and Urby Whale. Formed in 2006, the band quickly gained a foothold on the London music scene, being variously described as anti-folk, nu-folk and folk-pop.
Texas-born Devendra Banhart exploded onto the international music scene in 2002, quickly winning a coterie of devoted fans as well as an unusually hefty amount of critical kudos right from the outset.
The Coronas have slowly but surely been embraced by their evergrowing contingent of fans as one of the best Irish bands to emerge in the past five years.
From June 11 to 13, Seaclose Park will play host to 55,000 free-spirited festivalgoers as the Isle of Wight Festival returns with a star-studded line up of world class acts, including Jay-Z, The Strokes, Pink, Blondie, Florence and The Machine, Mr Hudson, Crowded House, The Saturdays, Vampire Weekend, Suzi Quatro, Spandau Ballet, Daisy Dares You, Calvin Harris, I Blame Coco, Biffy Clyro, N-Dubz and many more.
