HE was one of the most successful acts of the 1980s with hits such as The Riddle and I Won’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me.
He went on to work as a producer with the likes of Elton John, Cliff Richard, Ronan Keating and Gary Barlow and penned the Chesney Hawkes smash-hit The One and Only.
Nik Kershaw plays an acoustic set at Southampton’s Talking Heads tonight.
Nik told Scene South: “I’m always writing stuff and working with people in the background so it will be nice to do some shows again, and the good thing about doing an acoustic set is there is no band to rehearse with and I can change things around if I feel like it.
“It’s a different deal from years ago, but I often feel like there is more pressure for some reason. Maybe I feel like I have to prove myself.
But at the end of the day, life’s too short. With some of the things happening in world events, a Nik Kershaw gig isn’t that important.
I love doing it, hopefully the audience love being there, but it’s not life and death.”
The evening features all Nik’s hits, plus a selection of material from his more recent albums.
