A TRIO of Southampton musicians will see their dreams come true tomorrow night – when they perform a support slot for their hero Paul Weller, right.
Drummer Steve Faithfull, Ray Drury on keyboard and bassist and vocalist Neil Hibberd appear in the Steve Brookes Band, headed up by Surrey-based guitar and vocalist Steve.
Steve met The Modfather when they were 13-year-old schoolboys and they went on to form The Jam in 1973.
Although Steve left the band, they have remained friends ever since – and the band were delighted to get a call asking them to support the legendary singer songwriter, who is also due to perform at Summer Madness on the Isle of Wight in August.
The sold out gig, Wake Up Woking, is in aid of the Woking Sam Beare Hospice.
The Steve Brookes Band regularly gig around the South Coast.
