EVERY Monday for the past ten years, a Southampton pub has echoed to the sounds of a well-known local jazz act.
And to mark the tenth anniversary of the Harry Young Band’s weekly gigs at the Bent Brief, a number of fans and musicians who have played with them over the years joined them onstage.
The five-piece, who are fronted by saxophonist Harry Young, were also presented with a specially-made celebration cake at the gig.
Maureen Evans, landlady of the popular watering hole in Lodge Road, said the occasion had brought a bumper crowd to the venue on Monday.
She said: “They’ve played here non-stop for ten years and it was just a celebration and a chance to get everyone together who have been coming here through the years.
“It would be nice to think there will be a celebration in another ten years time.
“People come here from Gosport and all around to see the band.”
